Practice Session Highlights

Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was fastest in front of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in FP1 for the street circuit event.

McLaren's championship contenders Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris wrapped up the practice in P5 and P6.

Piastri was a notable margin speedier than the Briton.

The experienced Spaniard was a slim margin in front of the Ferrari driver and 0.276secs faster than Verstappen.

The Italian squad's Lewis Hamilton was fourth fastest.

Car Performance

Few anticipate that Aston Martin will be contenders for the top spot.

However, the outfit are hopeful of a better weekend on a low-speed track that is ideally suited to their car, which runs more competitively when plenty of downforce are required.

Double world title winner Alonso is also renowned as a street circuit master, and typically performs well on the Singapore circuit.

Yet he was almost certainly using less fuel or a increased power than his rivals, or a combination, to set such a quick time.

Practice Conditions

Partner Canadian racer was 1.918secs behind in 18th place.
